Why do I have to learn a new referencing system?

Two different referencing styles are used across ECA HE which poses potential confusion for students taking electives across ECA HE entities and challenges for staff working across ECA HE entities. 

But is APA better than Harvard?

There are compelling reasons why APA is preferred over Harvard style and why have we chosen APA as our preferred style: 

• APA provides comprehensive, standardised guidelines for creating references 

• APA is supported by citation tools 

• APA also serves as a comprehensive style manual 

This change is stressing me out

Don't stress. You  you will only need to make small (but important) changes to your citations to change them into APA format.
